Fiona Dawson is an Emmy® nominated multi-media director, producer & writer, LGBTQ advocate, and IFP Documentary Lab Fellow. She directed Transgender, at War and in Love, commissioned by The New York Times and created the media project TransMilitary, which intimately shares the lives of American transgender service members risking discharge. Fiona was honored by The White House for her work as an LGBTQ Artist Champion of Change in 2015. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Human Rights Campaign and NLGJA - The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. She is Principal of Free Lion Productions. Her feature length documentary TransMilitary, directed and produced in collaboration with SideXSide Studios, premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2018 and won Best Feature Documentary Audience Award.
